Brainstorming: Product Design
Brainstorming for possible product design ideas led us to the creation of the initial design: an avocado with a stem and leaf on top.  With this design, sketched above, the avocado was the actual perfume bottle, and the stem and leaf together made up the cap.
Final Product Design
After more thought and consideration, we changed the product design to just an avocado itself; the bottom of the avocado makes up the bottle, while the top makes up the cap. This new design creates a cleaner, more simplified look, which not only reduces the required material, but also the impact on the environment.  At our company, we make sure everything we produce represents the quality and responsible manufacturing process we believe in.
SOLIDWORKS: Three-Dimensional View
Using the design sketches and dimensions, a 3D development of the product was professionally created in SolidWorks.  To ensure the best possible end result, a variety of different features were utilized in the computer program.  The bottle was created first, which includes specific threading around the neck for the spray nozzle to screw into place.  The cap was created second, which has an inside opening that allows for a tight fit around the spray nozzle.  Lastly, both material properties and color were added to complete the desired look.
Original Prototype
From the SolidWorks files, the product was physically prototyped. This phase allowed our team to examine the features and make adjustments as needed.  Although the original prototype was not able to capture the desired colors, the structural design of the product was excellent and met our high company standards. Since this original model, we have been successful in accurately prototyping and manufacturing our final product, which is shown and described below.
Final Product Renderings
Our team is very pleased with the final bottle/cap design and perfume product, as they both meet what we had envisioned just a few short months ago. One of our top product priorities was to get USDA organic certified, which we were able to accomplish in record time.
The certified organic perfume is a fusion of sweet avocado and matcha green tea, with a hint of citrus and white jasmine --- all contained in a bottle that rests perfectly in the palm of a hand.
